in a Post Pandemic World
Fall 2020, Interior Design Studio 5
Project Description
For this project I designed a co-work office space. My design intervention includes a variety of work spaces that are available for rent to multiple user types. These spaces accommodate different programs necessary for communal and private working in a post pandemic world. The project considers the concepts of community focused co-working, Covid safety protocols, and combating anxiety by emphasizing the importance of work-life balance. The design strategy implemented in this project was to create a visual experience for the users by combining and contrasting calming and productive design elements.

Project Approach - The project considers the concepts of community focused co-working, Covid safety protocols, and combating anxiety by emphasizing the importance of work-life balance.
Design Intent & Process:
Concept - The goal of this project was to design a series of interior environments that would create a safe, inclusive, calming, and productive work space for a variety of users with different needs. Through the design intervention, this projects also considers the client, their branding, and how the interior can communicate a specific business mission, core service, objectives, and values.
Spatial Strategy & Layout - The design strategy implemented in this project was to create a visual experience for the users by combining and contrasting calming and productive design elements. Built forms, materials, lighting, and color pallets draw inspiration from the ocean and from old fashioned New York City industrial design. The top floor of the site contains the primary programming of co-work spaces, a kitchen, dining spaces, restroom, utility space, and employee space. The roof deck on the site contains the projects secondary programming, a combination of co-work and lounging space.
